What is Melasma ?
Melasma is a common skin problem which is more prevalent in women. The condition causes black, distorted patches (discolored patches) to appear on the skin. Melasma can be caused by hormonal changes in the body during pregnancy or during exposure to the sun. Hormones that stimulate the growth of cells form brown pigments (melanocytes) and stimulate melanin pigments (melanin pigments) in contact with sunlight.
